Made from ASTM A27 cast steel and are built to withstand the toughest conditions. No surface paint or finish to maintain quick, easy and safe weld-ability to the deck of any barge or workboat. Designed primarily to be used with line or wire for barge coupling, checking, or mooring. They are typically placed at the starboard and port corners of the bow and stern of a barge and along the gunnels of a push-boat/ tow-boat. Additionally, the Horns featured on these Double Bitts prevent line or wire from "riding up" the bollard during a tow as well as allow for easy and controlled checking.
