Caterpillar 228-4766 Engine Lifting Plate Bracket - Used

Caterpillar 228-4766 engine lifting plate / hoist eye bracket, removed from service. Cat's parts catalog lists 228-4766 as PLATE-LIFTING, and the number is cast into the part itself. Commonly associated with Caterpillar C7 and 3126 family engines — application for this specific unit is not verified.

Condition: used, untested take-off. One side retains original Cat yellow paint; the reverse shows surface rust, paint loss, and sealant residue. No cracks, bends, or elongated holes visible in the photos. This is load-bearing lifting hardware and has NOT been load tested or crack inspected — inspection by a qualified rigger is required before any lifting use.
