SMI SIH-298 Cast Aluminum Water Pump Impeller Housing / Cover - Application Unverified

Cast aluminum water pump impeller housing / cover, cast `SMI` and `SIH-298`. Round four-bolt body with twin crescent port pockets on the flat sealing face and a stepped impeller cavity on the reverse.

Application: Not verified. Visually similar to OMC / Evinrude-Johnson Stringer sterndrive impeller housings, but it may equally be a cover from a flexible-impeller raw-water pump (Sherwood/Jabsco/Johnson/Oberdorfer style) or a gerotor pump cover. Sold by photographs, cast identifiers, and dimensions only.

Condition: Unknown / untested (Grade U). Casting is clean and bright with no corrosion, scale, or gasket residue and no obvious cavity scoring, but there is no packaging, label, or test evidence — so no new/NOS or functional claim is made. Housing/cover only; no impeller, cam, wear plate, seals, gaskets, or hardware.

Approximate dimensions: ~5.5 in OD, ~1.75 in thick, ~1.5 in center bore. Caliper measurements available on request.
