ZF 280-1 Marine Transmission (Gearbox) with Damper Plate — Used, Untested

Application: Marine reduction gear from the ZF 280 series, Made in Italy, removed from service. Data plate reads TYPE ZF 280-1, Serial No 20060232, Part List No 3207002059, ratio reading 1.514 (plate partially obscured — ratio requires verification), SAE 30 oil, 5 dm³ capacity. Supplied as pictured with SAE bell housing, torsional damper plate mounted to the input, top-mounted shift valve block and selector lever, cooler port fittings, and output flange. Application is not verified — this gearbox is sold by photographs, data-plate identifiers, and dimensions.

Condition: Used take-off, untested. Shop dirt and surface rust throughout, corrosion on the damper plate and flange faces, and a chipped/broken section at the outer rim of the bell housing/damper plate area (see photos). No run test, pressure test, or shift test has been performed and no operational claim is made. Internals, clutch packs, seals, and bearings are unverified — best suited to a buyer prepared to inspect, service, or rebuild. The unit will be drained and ports capped prior to shipping.
