Garrett AiResearch Turbocharger - Used / Untested Core

Garrett / AiResearch large-frame diesel turbocharger, offered as a used, untested rebuildable core.

Application: Not verified. "AiResearch" is cast into the compressor housing, but no data plate or model/part number is legible on this unit. Large-frame AiResearch turbos of this style were used on a wide range of Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Cummins and industrial/marine engines — this unit may fit one of those applications, but the buyer must confirm. Wheel diameters, A/R markings, and flange bolt patterns can be measured on request.

Condition: Used take-off / core. Turbine housing has heavy surface rust and scale; the aluminum compressor housing is oxidized with dried oil residue at the inlet. Compressor and turbine wheels appear complete in the photos. The unit has NOT been spun, tested, flow-checked, or rebuilt — sold as an untested core for rebuild. Residual oil will be drained and all ports capped before shipping.
